IT Evolution Pty, Ltd ("IT Evolution", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). It applies to this website (itevolution.co.za), to our newsletter and enquiry forms, and to the internal tools we use to run our business, including our SuiteStory account.
1. Who is responsible for your information
IT Evolution Pty, Ltd is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website. Our Information Officer can be contacted at helpus@itevolution.co.za or on +27 (011) 326-2500. 2. Information we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email address, telephone number, company name and the content of your message when you complete a contact or enquiry form, subscribe to our newsletter, apply through our careers page or otherwise contact us.
- Information collected automatically: when you visit this website we use Google Analytics to collect technical and usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, referring website and the date and time of your visit. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
- Business information: if you are a client or supplier, the contact and account details needed to provide or receive services.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and provide the services you ask for.
- To send our newsletter and service updates, where you have subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- To understand how our website is used so that we can improve it and our marketing.
- To keep our website and systems secure, and to meet our legal and contractual obligations.
We process personal information only where we have a lawful basis to do so: your consent, the performance of a contract, a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in running and promoting our business in a way that does not override your rights.
4. Cookies and analytics
This website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, to measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the website work.
5. Google user data and Google API Services
IT Evolution uses SuiteStory, a business management and website platform, to run its own website and marketing. We connect IT Evolution's own Google accounts to SuiteStory so that our staff can see how our own website is performing. When an authorised IT Evolution staff member signs in with Google and approves access, our application may access:
- Google Search Console (read-only): search performance data for our own website, such as search queries, clicks, impressions and pages.
- Google Analytics (read-only): traffic and engagement statistics for our own website.
- Google Business Profile (where connected): our own business listing details, and the reviews customers have left, so that we can read and respond to them.
We use this information only to display reporting and manage reviews for IT Evolution's own business inside our SuiteStory account. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties, and our staff do not use it for any other purpose. Access tokens are stored encrypted. You can revoke this access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions or by disconnecting the integration inside SuiteStory.
IT Evolution's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business and who are required to protect it, for example our website and email platform (SuiteStory), hosting providers, and Google (for analytics), and with authorities where the law requires. Some of these providers may process information outside South Africa; where this happens we take steps to ensure that your information remains protected as POPIA requires.
7. Security and retention
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above or as the law requires, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
8. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm whether we hold personal information about you, to access it, to correct or delete it, and to stop processing it. You may also withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise these rights, email our Information Officer at helpus@itevolution.co.za. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed, and the current version will always be available on this page.
